A Nightmare Before Christmas Came to Life for the Seminole Tribe
What happens when Halloween Town meets Christmas Town?
For the Seminole Tribe’s Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas celebration, Florida Event Decor transformed the event space into an immersive holiday world where spooky, whimsical, and festive details came together.
Rather than treating the theme as traditional Christmas decor, the design turned the story into a guest journey through Halloween Town and Christmas Town. Custom scenic installations, themed entrances, character-inspired decor, dramatic lighting, lounge environments, entertainment areas, and holiday tablescapes gave guests something new to discover throughout the celebration.
The result was a celebration where every detail worked together to bring the theme to life—from the first entrance to the smallest character-inspired discovery.

A Story Guests Could Step Into.
The experience began before guests reached the main celebration.
Halloween Town established the darker side of the story with iron gates, faux spider webs, gravestones, fog machines, fog bubbles, black carpeting, and rows of black spruce trees. The combination created an atmosphere of mystery and anticipation, immediately setting the tone for what was ahead.
Then the environment transformed.
Christmas Town introduced flocked spruce trees, red carpets, classic Christmas houses, and illuminated scenic elements, shifting the atmosphere from eerie to whimsical while maintaining the theme's visual drama.
At the center of that transition was the Christmas Discovery Portal. Inspired by Jack Skellington’s discovery of Christmas Town, the custom entrance featured a tree-shaped opening topped with a glowing star. Guests could physically pass through the portal, turning a memorable moment from the story into an immersive part of their own experience.
Custom Entrances Turned Pathways Into Destinations
Immersive events become more memorable when the environment starts telling the story before guests enter the main celebration.
The Shock, Lock & Barrel Treehouse Entrance was one of the event’s standout scenic installations. Designed as a custom wood tunnel inspired by the mischievous trio’s whimsical treehouse, the structure measured approximately 11 feet in diameter and 8 feet high on the exterior. Illuminated windows added warmth and depth, transforming the passage into a destination in its own right.
The Christmas Town Entrance created another major visual statement. The double-sided brick façade measured approximately 28 feet wide by 15 feet tall and featured snow-dusted rooflines, illuminated windows, candy-striped columns, sculpted snow bases, and a central archway.
Together, these custom entrances did more than guide guests through the space. They made the journey part of the celebration.
A Holiday Tablescape With a Tim Burton Twist
The story continued at the dining tables through color, texture, floral design, and carefully layered details.
White, red, and velvet linens created an elegant holiday foundation, while black, red, and red-and-white striped accents introduced the theme's darker personality. Kelly and Lucid chairs complemented the settings, with chargers, glassware, and coordinated napkins completing the place settings.
Long dining tables featured Christmas Town floral runners layered with eucalyptus, pine garlands, red berries, ornaments, silk florals, and candleholders of varying heights.
Round tables offered their own interpretations of the holiday aesthetic. Old World Elegance arrangements brought together roses, dahlias, amaryllis, gloriosa lilies, greenery, and berries, while traditional Christmas arrangements combined evergreens, eucalyptus, red berries, white florals, and taper candles.
Cocktail tables took a more dramatic turn with Red Widow, pairing crimson roses, burgundy ranunculus, and inky calla lilies for a striking floral statement.
The result was a dining environment that balanced elegant holiday styling with the unmistakable drama of Tim Burton’s world.
Themed Bars Became Part of the Experience
The bars were designed as destinations rather than treated as simple service stations.
Sally’s Potion Bar combined glowing gold bars with a spooky arboretum tree and potion-inspired back bar elements, creating a whimsical setting with the feel of an enchanted apothecary.
Nearby, Snow & Zero Bar shifted the atmosphere with silver glow bars, a spooky arboretum tree, a Snow Bar accent package, and silver floating candle walls.
Each bar had its own personality while remaining visually connected to the larger Halloween Town and Christmas Town story.
Oogie Boogie Got His Own Lounge
Black cabanas and draping defined the lounge environment. In contrast, Licorice lounge chairs, lime-green accent tables, black armchairs, burlap rugs, and black-and-white swirl pillows created the bold contrasts associated with Oogie Boogie.
An LED dance floor added another layer of energy, giving guests a dedicated space to gather, dance, and enjoy the atmosphere.
The lounge intentionally contrasted with the elegant Christmas areas, proving that different environments can have distinct personalities while still feeling like part of one cohesive event.
A Kids’ Area Filled With Whimsy
The younger guests had their own immersive environment, featuring a custom ball pit, rocking horses, swivel chairs, oversized games, candy-themed elements, and illuminated lounge pieces.
The Candy Splash Wall became a playful focal point, combining a large-format printed backdrop with wall-mounted candy holders to transform an activity area into another piece of the overall design.
It was a thoughtful extension of the theme, giving younger guests a space designed specifically for them while maintaining the same sense of discovery found throughout the celebration.
Character-Inspired Details Around Every Corner
The story continued through character-inspired installations and unexpected moments throughout the event.
Classic Christmas houses, spruce trees, and character Christmas trees represented beloved figures from The Nightmare Before Christmas, including Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Zero, and Lock, Shock & Barrel.
Life-like animatronics added movement and realism, creating moments that felt as though the characters had stepped directly into the environment.
Then came Holographic Flying Zero.
The projection made Zero appear to float through the space, adding a cinematic moment without requiring a large physical installation. Details like this encouraged guests to look around, explore, and discover the story from different perspectives.
When Holiday Decor Becomes an Experience
The most memorable themed events do more than decorate a venue.
They transform the environment itself.
For the Seminole Tribe’s The Nightmare Before Christmas celebration, every area played a role—from the eerie atmosphere of Halloween Town and the transformation into Christmas Town to the custom scenic entrances, character-inspired installations, themed bars, dining environments, children’s activities, and Oogie Boogie lounge.
The design embraced the contrast at the heart of the story:
dark and light.
Spooky and festive.
Mysterious and playful.
Instead of choosing between Halloween and Christmas, the experience brought both worlds together and gave guests a reason to explore them.
The result was a holiday celebration that felt less like a decorated venue and more like stepping inside the story itself.
