There’s something irresistibly magnetic about a Havana Nights theme, no surprise it remains a timeless favorite at Florida Event Decor. It’s a sensory journey: each detail, color, and rhythm transports guests to the heart of Cuba’s lively streets, blending vintage nostalgia with tropical vibrancy.

For this particular celebration, we had the pleasure of transforming the Rosen Centre Orlando into a Havana-inspired welcome reception. Vibrant hues, Latin soul, and a deep sense of place converged to create an atmosphere pulsing with charm and warmth.

Musical-Tropical Gateway

Event décor involves storytelling through texture, light, and form. This Havana Nights experience was crafted like a melody, where no single note stands alone. We used glowing paper lanterns swaying beneath LED palm trees, 1950s-style cars parked in murals, vibrant tropical linens, and vintage-style konga drum tables scattered throughout.

The heart of the space was alive with slatted bars, glowing signage, and welcoming rustic wood details — blending old Havana charm with a touch of modern sophistication. A wooden cabana lounge whispered café culture while the neon glow and string lights carried the energy of a Caribbean sunset. Like the classic tune Guantanamera, each design choice played its part in telling a story that didn’t need words.

Cuban Details with a Personal Touch

Every detail was intentionally curated with a Cuban spirit in mind. Our scenic artists created a custom Mojito Bar Station, featuring a hand-crafted wood façade, aged graphics, and rustic Havana Club branding. It stood 7 feet wide, framed by stacked crates and weathered rum barrels, offering a warm, approachable vibe.

Nearby, the slatted bar and back bar became an art piece of their own — composed of mixed-grain, light-toned woods for a cozy, lived-in aesthetic. Fruit, light accents, and stacked crates filled the cubby holes, creating a functional backdrop for refreshments.

Anchoring the perimeter was the bold "Welcome to Cuba" postcard installation — 6 feet tall and 8 feet wide, with a detailed lattice base and soft gallery-style lighting. Its counterpart, the "Havana" marquee sign, stood tall and glowing, crowning the scene with a vintage elegance.

Lighting That Sings

Lighting was our secret instrument in harmonizing the space. We layered textures and temperatures — from the soft flicker of candles and paper lanterns to the vibrant pulse of LED palm trees and string lights dancing overhead.

A total of 30 wireless uplights cast rich tropical hues across the venue, defining the atmosphere without overwhelming it. These transitions of color brought depth to the evening and gave the space a rhythm that changed with every corner.

A Taste of Havana in Every Corner

This setup captured the soul of Havana — warm, open, and alive with energy. Through custom-designed bar stations, vibrant tropical palettes, and subtle nods to classic Cuban music, we invited guests into a living story. A tropical escape infused with flavor, rhythm, and nostalgia.
