A Margaritaville Escape on the Expo Floor
Trade show floors rarely feel like a vacation. At Parcel Forum Expo at Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, Florida Event Decor brought a tropical concept to life with a thatched-roof tiki bar, an oversized white Adirondack chair, towering parrot sculptures, colorful barstools, and lush greenery.

A thatched-roof tiki bar, an oversized Adirondack chair, colorful barstools, and towering tropical parrot props gave the Margaritaville installation a distinctive island-inspired character. Florida Event Decor combined statement pieces, bold color, greenery, and nautical details to create a themed decor selection with plenty of visual personality.
The Tiki Bar Set the Scene
The thatched-roof tiki bar provided the defining feature of the Margaritaville decor selection. Its textured roof and bamboo-inspired structure gave the installation an unmistakable tropical reference.
The bar's separate roof, frame, uprights, and surround formed a coordinated scenic piece, bringing more visual presence than a standard bar setup. Its distinctive silhouette offered a natural focal point around which the other themed elements could be coordinated.
For event planners, a statement bar can serve two purposes: providing a functional feature and helping establish the look of the surrounding environment.

An Oversized Adirondack Chair Made a Statement
Measuring approximately six feet tall, four feet wide, and seven feet one inch deep, the oversized white Adirondack chair transformed a familiar outdoor furniture style into a large-scale decorative feature.
Its white finish offered a clean contrast to the tiki bar's textured roof and the colorful accents elsewhere in the selection. The exaggerated proportions gave the chair a playful presence, reinforcing the relaxed, beach-inspired character of Margaritaville.
A coordinating step stool was included to make accessing the oversized chair easier.
Statement pieces like this can help a themed installation become recognizable at a glance, giving the design an element that stands apart from conventional event furniture.

Colorful Barstools Brought the Energy
Yellow, mint, turquoise, white, and orange metal barstools introduced a vibrant range of colors into the setup. Their simple, backless design provided a visual counterpoint to the tiki bar and oversized chair, keeping the furniture selection varied without adding unnecessary complexity.
The colors supported the playful direction of the Margaritaville theme, while the bar-height format provided practical seating alongside the cocktail tables.
This combination of colorful furniture and more elaborate scenic pieces shows how supporting elements can reinforce a theme without competing with its main attractions.

Oversized Parrots Added Tropical Personality
Two large decorative parrot props brought another recognizable tropical motif into the installation: a blue parrot on a tiki and a green parrot on a rock.
Each measured approximately three and a half feet wide, six and a half feet tall, and three and a half feet deep. Their scale offered substantial visual presence, while the included faux ferns and standard uplighting added detail to each prop.
The birds introduced color, height, and playful character beyond the tiki bar itself. For a themed environment, distinctive props can help extend the concept through different shapes and visual focal points.

Tropical Greenery Added Natural Texture
The foliage selection included live Adonidia palms, Areca palms, ferns, peace lilies, and crotons. These plants offered different leaf shapes, heights, and textures to complement the brighter furniture and scenic props.
Greenery can balance an installation that relies on bold colors and oversized features, introducing organic forms that soften the overall look.
Combined with the thatched roof, bamboo details, and faux fern accents, the plant selection reinforced the tropical direction through more than decorative props alone.
A Tropical Setting Designed for Connection
The Margaritaville installation demonstrates how statement props, distinctive furniture, vibrant color, and tropical foliage can work together to express a clear theme.
The tiki bar established the direction, the oversized Adirondack chair added scale, and the parrots and colorful barstools introduced personality. Greenery and nautical details provided complementary textures that tied the selection together.
Corporate receptions, conference activations, networking events, and themed hospitality areas can all benefit from this approach. A few well-chosen statement pieces, supported by coordinated furniture and decor, can give an event environment a distinctive identity.
